7 Ironman Triathlons. 7 continents. 21 days.

On 13 November 2025, Spencer Matthews set off in Canary Wharf, London, to begin the start PROJECT SE7EN. The task was to complete 7 Ironman triathlons, in the 7 Continents of the world, in 21 days. Previously, this World Record was 3 years 11 months and Matthews smashed this out of the park.

Matthew’s diary saw him land in the following worldwide locations: London (Europe), Arizona (North America), Cape Town (Africa), Perth (Oceania), Dubai (Asia), Rio de Janeiro (South America), and Antarctica.

Who is Spencer Matthews?

Matthews, 37, was already an accomplished ultrarunner before attempting PROJECT SE7EN.

Matthews has previously completed Marathon des Sables 2021, The Great Desert Challenge 2024 (30 desert marathons in 30 days), Snowdon Mountain Challenge 2025 (92km up and down all 6 of the Snowdon routes), and a track 24-hour 170km run 2024. Seperate to ultra Matthews has hiked through the Amazon rainforest, completed training to be posted on Everest Base Camp for a documentary, and ran sub 3hr marathons at Abbott World Marathon Majors.
