6 Ironman Triathlon races in 6 days

Matthew Johnson, out of Iowa, USA, completed 6 full Ironman triathlons in 6 consecutive days from 14 to 19 August 2026.

Johnson and his team raised $50,000 for Valorfit, a USA-based non-profit that supports Veterans with group fitness facilities empowering those who have served for the country to live lives with purpose, confidence, and respect.

The Ironman triathlon is a 3.8km swim (2.4 mile); 180km bike (112 mile); 42.2km run (26.2 mile). Over 6 days Johnson covered 22.8km (14.4 miles) swimming; 1,080km (672 miles) cycling, and 253.2 (157.2 miles). Across the three discaplins, Johnson covered 1,356km (843.6 miles).

Johnson averaged 5 hours 40 minutes of sleep per night.

‘I am no different than any of you. I’m just a kid who loved to try. I’m just a kid who wouldn’t give up’ (Johnson, 2026).

In the past week, an incredible athletic feat showed what drive, determination, and purpose can produce. ‘There is more to process than the miles, the times, the heart rates and data. The finish is certain, the path is not’ (Johnson, 2026).

Coincidentally, Matthew Johnson makes that statement above, which aligns with the Runlore vision. We collect so much data, yet there are layers, stories, and lore underneath this all that allow us incredible humans to tackle such feats.

Congratulations, Matthew Johnson. Take a look at Johnson’s Instagram to see more media on this story @Matthewjohnson__
